Kate Brown-Wing has been training for 20+ years, is an AKC/CGC Evaluator, and has trained over 150+ breeds. Kate identifies canine breed characteristics, but as an instructor, chooses to focus on each individual dog and their owner (even within group classes). It’s no surprise that – no two dogs and their owners are alike! For Kate, it’s more than obedience; it’s about developing trusting partnerships and training each dog to offer his/her attentive mind and choose to deliver cooperative canine tasks, skills and behaviors.
Kate’s classes are upbeat, informative, resourceful and productive. Her belief is that dogs (like people) are best able to learn and develop if provided consistent, positive learning methods and are free of fear. With positive training techniques and methodical training plans, each dog is evaluated for progress, proofed and encouraged to mastery. Whether an older dog, rescue, or competitive canine super-star, she aims for well-rounded, calm, cooperative, happy family dogs.
She lives with her 2 pups, Diggity and Jeeves, who often can be seen at OTPR-Dulles and are ‘demo’ dogs for her classes, often adding comical notes to sessions!
